The First Snow
I know that some
people have “The hills are alive…,” romantic notions every time they hear the
meteorologist say “we are getting the first snow of the season folks.” They have visions of tobogganing and skating
in their heads as they dream about those soft, fluffy flakes snuggling the hillsides. Well I don’t.
Because these sorts of things never happen on a Sunday or Saturday. These things only happen on a Tuesday
morning, “around 6 am folks” I can hear the meteorologist smirking evilly,
“better leave a little earlier this morning and don’t forget your boots!”.
And irregardless
if you end up getting a tenth of the snow that they dramatically predict (which
is ALWAYS the case), the drivers have been warned. Everyone gets in their car and drives SUPER
SLOW!! Because we all know how 1 cm of
snow can dramatically affect driving conditions and could potentially lead to
limb ripping accidents. Getting to work
on time? Not a snowball’s chance in
hell!
